LG has launched a mosquito repellent smartphone — the K7i — at Rs 7,990. The smartphone uses sound wave technology and is equipped with ‘Mosquito Away Technology’ that once activated makes sure that the mosquitoes are out of sight.
The ultra-sonic device ensures that no harmful radiations are emitted and the company also claims that the ultrasonic frequency is per the norms set up by global organizations. The Mosquito Away is a silent, odourless, user-friendly technology that uses no harmful chemicals. The device won’t require any refilling or replacement, claims the company.
On the specifications front, the K7i sports a Quad-core processor and runs on Android Marshmallow. It is powered by 2GB RAM, 16GB of eMMC internal storage and backed by a removable 2500mAh battery. It sports a 5.0-inch Cell Display and flaunts an 8MP rear camera that comes with Burst Shot feature which will allow users to take up to 10 continuous photos. The device uses a 5MP selfie camera with Gesture Interval shot and users will have to close their hands to activate the 3-second timer without using a physical button. The screen border also doubles as a flash light for better selfies in low light conditions.
The K7i features a dual sim card slot and supports Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and microUSB 2.0 for connectivity. The K7i is third in line in the Mosquito Away series after the Mosquito repellent AC and Television launched last year.
